Garden

Hazel has been asking for her own little plot in the garden, so today we set up an area. Unlike me, she chose all ornamental plants, flowers and succulents. Margot picked a few too.

Steak

Hazel is eating a PILE of cauliflower, by covering it in the juice from her steak. She said "it’s like the best part of steak, but a vegetable! " I made a head of cauliflower, and I’d guess she ate 85%

Homework

When Hazel does homework, Margot wants to as well.

Movie night

We rarely watch movies or TV, but tonight we did, with a picnic in the living room. The Incredibles was too scary, but A Bugs Life is only mildly too scary. It’s OK with snuggling.

English and Chinese

It blows me away that Hazel can write in two completely different writing systems. Love her school.

Morning

Hazel woke up early, so we took the MG for a spin… Stopped at Starbucks. After we dropped Hazel off at school, Margot and I had an awesome time playing at the park for an hour. Now, work….

Mermaid

Margot was gifted a really cute blanket/bag that is a mermaid tail. She was just squirming all over the floor saying "I’m a mermaid. I swim".

Cheddar

Margot loves cheese. Loves it. Last night I gave her a piece of proper English cheddar, and a piece of "orange cheese" as she calls it, just regular American cheddar. Pleased to say she her favorite was the English Cheddar.

Valentine’s day

Hazel made (with some help) chocolate covered strawberries, and I made mushroom Alfredo pasta and sous vide scallops. Hazel made me a card, and wrote "I love you" in Chinese!

Chatterbox

Margot has been talking non stop today. 3 people commented on how talkative she is.

Field Showcase

Hazel’s afterschool program had a "showcase" yesterday, where each class did a dance routine, and they had projects from the last few months on display. Hazel loved performing the routine.

Lego

Had a very long weekend at the shop this weekend. But tonight was nice. A good dinner cooked by Kim, and then a nice time assembling Lego with Hazel. Lego was my favorite growing up. Only problem now is that Hazel doesn’t need any help anymore, so I don’t get to build any. I’m going […]
