Dead Poets Society

Hazel and I watched Dead Poets Society tonight. Tears were shed.

Hazel cried too.

Apparently in one of her videos for the album Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift had two of the stars from Dead Poets Society appear, as a deliberate shout out to the movie. This made Hazel curious about the movie, so I told her I’d watch it with her. She knew it was sad but nothing more. I had a hard time not telling her when she kept trying to prepare for something sad. I wanted to tell her to protect her from the sadness but also wanted her to experience the movie.

I hadn’t watched it in decades, probably 30 years or more.

It stands up to the test of time.

Kim picked pomegranates this morning. Most of these are the size of a softball, and the tree still has lots.

Margot recently decided she wanted to crochet a chicken. She didn’t have a kit or instructions. She just looked at some pictures of chickens online for “inspo” and then made this up in her head then crocheted it. I’m amazed at how she just figures

Pulp and LCD Soundsystem Hazel loves Pulp. She was a little surprised to find out they are in their 60’s and that most of the crowd is my age or older, lol. We had a really great time at the concert. Kim and Margot decided
