I had told Margot we could camp out to see the parade. My friend Joseph had an alternative that would have let us sleep at home tonight, but it wouldn’t be front row and Margot really really wanted to be front row. Plus she’s never slept out on the street with me for the Rose Parade, so she looked super sad when I suggested we skip sleeping out this year. They are only little once, so I caved. Land at LAX at 1 am. Home around 2. Grab sleeping bags and chairs and by 3 am we are at the Rose Parade, front row spot claimed.

It was chilly, so we snuggled deep in our sleeping bags and tried to catch some sleep before the parade. Kim and Hazel joined us later, having slept in bed at home. Margot loved it.

Although we spent much of our time on this trip in the water, we also enjoyed some great meals, an awesome fire show, fun markets, and just exploring.

We took the girls for the long promised and long overdue ear piercing, and then for some nice indian food after.

We did Tuesday tacos, and Margot was playing with my phone while we waited. She said she was trying to look mysterious.
