Today is a beautiful day

We hung out, read books, played, and went to Kidspace. Margot plays really well on her own and I join her now and then between laundry and packing for our trip for some fun with blocks, legislation, and dancing to Gin Blossoms. She is my favorite Margot in the whole world.

Menchies

Hazel has been having a bit of a tough time with me returning to the working world. The other day she requested a daddy-Hazel date. 🙂

Frogs can’t clean.

Me: Margot, you can have string cheese when you help Hazel clean up the Play-Doh. M: I can’t…. (Wailing). I can’t! Me: why not? M: me a Froggy. Froggies don’t have hands! (Wailing continues)

Snuggle bunny

My little snuggle bunny. For a while Margot was super, super into Kim, and would say things like "Me not like Daddy, me want mommy". I know it’s normal and usual for kids to go through stages like that, but I had a hard time with it. Thankfully, she’s out grown that and now she’s […]

Fun in the snow

I had a great time playing in the snow, making Olaf, sledding, and walking around and exploring Durango with the family. New Years Eve was topped off by watching Hazel conquer her movie fears by watching Horton Hears a Who, and watching Margot run around the room and play.

Lids

Margot and I are out and about today. Since I let Hazel have a "Anything you want " treat at Starbucks the other day, I made the same offer to Margot. She chose the organic fruit squeeze pouch. I asked her why she chose that. "It have lid. Me like lids" She’s been taking a […]

Passion Fruit

I don’t think I’ve ever met a person as enthusiastic about passion fruit as Margot, especially for a toddler.

Scrabble

Kim and Hazel are playing Scrabble.

Baby

"Me love my baby" "me a mama, that’s why I have baby carrier "

Cake

"Helping" bake

Sleepy mornings

Margot likes her cheek on my skin. Skin to skin is still nice, even when she has outgrown the newborn stage.

Halloween

Hazel was just sobbing inconsolably because I told her we were going to her friends house for Thanksgiving. She said "But I thought we could go to my cousins house for trick or treat." I said, "oh ,Hazel, not this year, sorry" Wailing, "…..but I miss my cousins" 🙁

Hazel’s 5th

We have a family tradition of the birthday person getting to choose birthday dinner. Hazel chose sushi, but specifically said that she wanted to make it. And she asked to make panna cotta, so she and I spent a good chunk of the afternoon in the kitchen, making a pile of sushi and a vanilla […]
