Souvenirs

Hazel picked out a souvenir from Scotland. She said "even though we didn’t actually see any highland cows, I know they are from Scotland because of my book from grandma and I love that book so this reminds me of Scotland. " She named him "Fuzzy who loves grass the highland cow".

Margot just found out the sports class today is for 4+.

Yes, seriously. Hazel was talking about sports class, and then Margot said "me me" while touching her chest. I explained it was for 4 years and older. She put her head on hand and wailed. On Mon, Mar 28, 2016, 8:46 AM Kim <kimluujennings> wrote: Lol seriously? Is that the context?

Hazel drew a picture

Hazel drew this last night after dinner. She said this was a picture of Mommy, Daddy, Hazel grown up and holding Margot, Grandma, and Grandpa and his beard. I’m thrilled that Hazel thinks I am so tall in her mind. 🙂

Giraffe and bee

I asked Hazel why the giraffe had three legs. She explained that the short one was his tail, and that you couldn’t see his other leges because they were behind the ones you can see.

Rocky from Paw patrol

Hazel made a play dough version of one of the characters from the dog cartoon Paw Patrol.

Video from skiing yesterday

Hazel loved the terrain park, where they build jumps and things for doing tricks. She didn’t really jump, but she wanted to. She kept asking to go off some bigger jumps, but I wouldn’t let her. =)

Skiing

Evolution of a day skiing with Hazel. She was tearing it up on a Blue Square this morning, and trying to jump in the terrain park. Took a selfie with Big Bear Lake in the background. Ate some $6 Mac and Cheese (her, not me). Then she conked out with her head in my lap, […]

Margot’s Words

Margot has been a little slower to speak than Hazel was, but it starting to build a vocabulary. As of today, she says: Uh oh Wah wah wah Boots Woo ooh woo ooh – to refer to her firtruck boots. Elwa (Elsa) – for anything Frozen related Nai (milk in Chinese) Mama Dadda GA JE […]

While playing the “ist game” in the car

Mommy: “I had the funniest day.” Hazel: “I have the nicest sister. Right Margot?” Sibling love is so sweet. We spent the day playing with Uncle Ton, Aunt Secelia, and Kelly. We rode out scooters around, raced in the driveway, kicked a ball, goofed off. Loved it.

Starbucks

Margot and I are the early birds of the family, and so its not uncommon for us to head over to Starbucks on a weekend morning to let Kim and Hazel sleep in. I spend a lot of time with both girls, but I don’t really get a ton of time with just Margot, so […]

Margot loves coloring

Margots loves coloring perhaps even more than Hazel did at the same age. She frequently grabs any sketch book or coloring book she sees around the house, grabs some crayons, and then happily sits down to scribble away. Then she points at it and shows me what she’s done or what Hazel has done. Sometimes […]

Today’s outfits

Margot likes nothing better than wearing Hazel’s clothes. We’ve discussed getting rid of hers and just storing one set.

Santa

Despite two attempts, Margot was having nothing to do with Santa. Hazel was happy to have a second chance because she forget to tell him something the first time.

Happy

Yesterday Margot was being fussy and difficult, and Hazel had a huge tantrum. At some point, I texted Kim that I was over being a sahd, and was going to look for a job. Today everything is great. Margot is happy and we are having fun running errands and going to her speech therapist. Its […]

Hazel’s first race

Hazel did her first ever race yesterday. Put on by the same people that organize the obstacle course races I’ve done three of this year. Super proud of my little Hazel. Hard to believe that just over three years ago we were celebrating her first steps. It was a 1/2 mile obstacle course, a Spartan […]

Just like Hazel

< p dir=”ltr”>Margot wants exactly what Hazel has. I got her to wear the sweater I wanted her to wear this morning, but only by having Hazel put it on first. Then Margot wanted it. I put a barette in Hazel’s hair, and Margot screeched until she got one. Hazel wanted Cheerios on the way […]

Faces

< p dir=”ltr”>We made the third of four gingerbread houses from her kit. Ended up looking like a face. Hazel imitated it. < p dir=”ltr”>

Megabus

< p dir=”ltr”>These days, whatever Hazel has or is doing, Margot wants or wants to do. We have an early bus ride from Washington D.C. To NYC, and Kim had given Margot a chunk or croissant. As soon as she saw that Hazel had a while croissant, she got very upset and started squealing. Handed […]

Designing icons

< p dir=”ltr”>Designing icons. Margot did have some help, Hazel did hers on her own. The mac plus took me back to high school. < p dir=”ltr”>

Delay leaving the hotel

< p dir=”ltr”>It took at least 5 minutes for Hazel to pick who gets to go out with us today. She ended up using the highly scientific "Eenie Meenie minie mo" which ended up, after three attempts, choosing AstroBear, who she got yesterday.

Hazel loves Where the Sidewalk Ends

Mom and Dad, You guys got Hazel Where the Sidewalk Ends For Christmas when she was 1 year old. Hazel is finally getting old enough to really love this book of silly poems, especially the one of the little girl who pretends to be sick until she finds out it is Saturday. It has been […]

Sketch book

< p dir=”ltr”>A while back, I bought Hazel a little sketchbook at a discount store. We decided it would be her travel sketchbook. We’re stuck in the airport today, and she decided she wanted to sketch her figurine souvenir.
