I suppose, after my last post, it would be hard for Guatemala to get worse. If it did, I probably wouldn´t be posting! After arriving it Antigua, I spent a few days recovering my leg and exploring the city. I was hanging out with Babke, the dutch girl who I met in Lanquin and helped me with the doctor. We met Emma, and irish traveler, and the three of us were hanging out. Last weekend, Babke was going to the beach, and Emma and I decided to travel to Lago Atilan together. It was a mellow weekend, super beautiful and Muy tranquilo. Thanks to Emma loaning me her camera, I was able to take loads of pictures. You guys know what a shutterbug I am and being without my camera was making me twitch a bit.

This week, I decided to sign up for a spanish language course. I love traveling in Latin American, and my lack of Spanish is embarrassing. I’ve been taking 6 hours a day of one on one instruction. My brain hurts. But I´ve learned a good amount and am enjoying it. i want to continue studying it when I get home. Kim comes down on Saturday, and is bringing the good camera, and we´re going to travel round the state, so you can expect loads and loads of photos in a week or so.

As part of our Asia Trip, we spent a few days in South Korea.

Our last week of our asia trip was spent in Japan.

We spent two weeks in Taiwan, and had a great time, was super fun to watch the girls navigate a new country, and to use the mandarin they have been studying for years now.

Scorpion story: After rigging our rafts the night before launching down the Canyon, we went to Marble Canyon Lodge for dinner. They have a gift shop, and Margot fell for a stuffed scorpion. She said ” I hope we see a scorpion!! “ Me: “Well,

Singapore is an interesting city state. It has a variety of cultures represented, and food everywhere. Food seemed to come in two varieties, cheap hawker stalls or expensive restaurants, and not much in between. I was blown away by how much of the city seemed

After years of dreaming, Kim and I finally returned to Rarotonga, where we indulged in scuba diving and delicious local cuisine. Our adventure continued as we flew to Aitutaki, where the breathtaking lagoon and vibrant marine life left us in awe.

A good chunk of the island of Rarotonga is surrounded by a shallow lagoon, protected from waves by the reef. This makes for some great snorkeling, with much of it easily accessible from the beach. Just from the beach we saw tons of colorful reef

Aitutaki is a tiny island with a huge lagoon. There are a handful of small resorts, but the island is probably one of the least developed places we’ve been. For dinner, there are just a few places to eat (we did find one we loved),

We booked two full day private boat tours with T’s Tours Aitutaki. It was a bit of a splurge, but felt so worth it. We had an awesome time doing several extended snorkels, so time exploring the motus and islands. An absolute treat.

Although we spent much of our time on this trip in the water, we also enjoyed some great meals, an awesome fire show, fun markets, and just exploring.
