At one of those days, a cover band was playing ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ from Guns and Roses. I looked down at Hazel as we were sitting on the lawn, the cool California evening weather surrounding us, and it was just a great feeling hanging out with this sweet child of mine, this little cherubic thing that likes running in circles on the grass, ‘winning’ when we race, Trader Joe samples, farmer’s markets, the Bubble Man, dancing, all of it.

-"On leaving Margot at the Farmer’s market (when we pretended to leave Margot off the list of things we needed to take back to car when packing up from the Farmer’s Market): "If we forget Margot, I’ll be really sad because I won’t get to play with her, and I’ll be really really sad."
-"I have an idea…"

Hazel was teasing me a little about my pie not being “from scratch” because I used a gluten free flour blend, while she mixes her own flour blends. I pointed out that I grew the apples, and it doesn’t get much more from scratch than

Kim picked pomegranates this morning. Most of these are the size of a softball, and the tree still has lots.

Margot recently decided she wanted to crochet a chicken. She didn’t have a kit or instructions. She just looked at some pictures of chickens online for “inspo” and then made this up in her head then crocheted it. I’m amazed at how she just figures

Pulp and LCD Soundsystem Hazel loves Pulp. She was a little surprised to find out they are in their 60’s and that most of the crowd is my age or older, lol. We had a really great time at the concert. Kim and Margot decided

As parents, we often get caught up in trends we don't fully understand. Trader Joe's mini cooler bags have gained immense popularity, with people eagerly queuing for them! My daughter Margot was excited to find the perfect peach bag for her school lunch. After months

My little baker got up at 6 this morning and made cinnamon roll pancakes. I thought they were pretty delicious. Yesterday she made breakfast tacos. We also got dutch baby pancake s

Hazel is home sick today. She texted me this: I’m stuck at home Super-duper sick No places to roam I wish this was a trick I’m so bored This house is so quiet Outside birds soared What rhymes with quiet I’ll be better by tonight

Hazel had a poetry assignment for school. They had to create a book with a certain number of different styles of poems, including haikus, cinquain, diamante, ballads, ode, and elegy.

We did Tuesday tacos, and Margot was playing with my phone while we waited. She said she was trying to look mysterious.
