We took a road trip after Christmas, but it turned out to be one of the wettest weeks on the west coast. Tons and tons of rain, including some of the heaviest rain I’ve seen in a long time, and snow. This changed our plans for multiple points on the trip and we missed a few things. But we still had a nice time. Highlights:
- visiting Paige and family in Chico, with ice skating, good food, fun board games and a hike and just spending time
- seeing the North Coast and the redwoods
- we ate amazing blue cheese
- Bend is a super cool town and it was great to visit with David. Very nice also to catch up with Greg and Marilee, but I’m bummed I didn’t remember to get a photo.
- We won a trivia night!
- i had the best gluten free fried fish tacos
- We sat through a little bit of the cringiest open mike comedy night.
- we did some shopping, no sales tax in OR
- we skied a new to us mountain, Mt Bachelor, but only a small part was open and it was raining. A lot. Still the snow was better than expected and we stuck it out for about 4 hours.
- a good breakfast and fun visit with Kevin & Natasha and family as we made our way home.
- more rainbows on the drive home than I can ever remember seeing in a single day. Dozens. Also some of the hardest rain.
