Our ornaments aren’t color coordinated or anything. We get most of them from my mom, who tries to get them to match interests, and we get many of them on our trips. Our first Christmases we had a tiny tree, and only a few ornaments , so we went to the dollar store and bought some of the shiny round balls and a cheap felt reindeer topper.

As our ornament collection has grown we’ve retired all the plain shiny ball types. Our tree is bigger too, and still it’s very crowded with ornaments. But we’ve kept the cheap felt reindeer.
