Pauley Creek is a spectacular kayak run in Northern California. Tons of fun drops, a couple technical rapids. We got a good early season run in, though it meant hiking in through snow. I didn’t get footage of all the good rapids by any means, notably missing 17 foot Federal Falls, one of my favorite waterfalls anywhere.

I did run Pauley Falls. It was a little low, making the entry a little less than clean, I bumped some rocks and lost some speed, but I was still stoked on the line. i’ve run it before, but it’s big enough, with enough rocks, to still get my heart pumping hard every time.

Paddled with Dan Carter and Bob Warren, and it was a pleasure paddling with them. Solid paddlers.

Hazel is an avid, avid reader, and devours books. She seems to pick up and use new words really well too. The funny part is that she frequently uses words that she is learned from a book, but probably hasn’t heard much, so she uses
