just a little comparison. I think Jennifer was a few months short of 2 in the photo, and Hazel is 2 years and 4 months. Tried to get the size close.

Hazel was saying thank you grandma and grandpa in this photo, but I didnt have enough room on my hpone to.get video. The blocks are really, really nice.

We hadn’t been talking at all today about dad/grandpa, but she just picked up this teenage mutant ninja turtle watch set, and said, very seriously "I think grandpa will like this. "

Hazel was playing with tinker toys on her own, and made this. She called it her "sun".

Just a photo I like a lot of Hazel, really getting into music time at the Kid’s museum.

I had fun playing photographer while hazel played at the zoo today.

After our cold, slightly damp visit with Santa at the zoo.

Rapt attention for the fossil talk.

Hazel just asked me to take her picture. I can’t remember her doing that before.

I just asked Hazel what she wanted to get Kim for her birthday. She looked serious, and said "A reindeer" Me- "really? A real one?" Hazel started laughing, "nooooo. I’m just being silly. I’m joking around." So fun to watch her personality develop.

Hazel is two, and the emotions are wild. Today, we dropped Kim at the train station, and as we drove off, Hazel started sobbing. I asked her what was wrong, and she said "I forgot to tell mommy ‘have fun at work’". Big, heaving sobs.

She looks like such a big girl.

Hazel just said, while playing with her catapillar. "Caterpillar. I don’t like your behavior. You need a timeout. Tell me when you are a big girl. " Then she put caterpillar on the washcloth and said "stay there" while wagging her finger. Made me chuckle

When we checked into our hotel Thursday, Hazel was offered her choice of small toys. The place is owned by the guy who made his fortune with "beanie babies" and the toys were made by company. Hazel picked a little pink poodle. Nothing worth mentioning,

Striding around the gorgeous grounds of the 4 seasons hotel in Santa Barbara.

Today, we were driving and Hazel asked for three nuts. So I gave her three. A moment later, she says "you gave Hazel 3 nuts, but I dropped one so now I have two. " If she recounted the nuts, she did it silently. Normally

We found a bunch of sand dollars when we were kayaking the other day. Made me think of my Grandpa. He used to collect them, and make clocks from them.
