Today Margot faced a fear and got to be brave. We spent some time working through her fear of doing a wet exit in an upside down kayak. It’s basically just staying calm, finding the grab loop on the skirt, pulling it, and exiting the kayak while upside down.

Once we got through that, and I was confident she could wet exit if needed, I took her down the Coloma to Greenwood section of the South Fork American River, and she did awesome.

Kayaking has played a pretty big role in my life, and watching Margot running the rapids in her own kayak made my heart swell.
